Ordering and Booking

Booking your balloons

How far in advance should I book my balloons?

The sooner the better, especially for weekends. We recommend booking at least 2 weeks in advance where possible, although we may be able to help with last-minute or same-day requests depending on availability.

Can I place a last-minute order?

Yes, please contact us as soon as possible. We will always try to help, but availability, stock and delivery times may be limited.

How do I place an order with MnM Balloons?

Contact us first with your event details, date, venue or postcode, colours and any inspiration images. Once everything is agreed, your order is confirmed by email.

Is there a minimum order value?

For venue setups, our minimum is usually around £200. Collection orders do not usually have the same minimum, but every enquiry is reviewed individually and we will advise.

Do you require a deposit?

For most private bookings, full payment is required upfront to secure the order. Approved business, school or corporate customers may be able to book using a purchase order with agreed payment terms.

When does the final balance need to be paid?

For most private bookings, payment is made in full when confirming the order, so there is no separate final balance.

What happens if I need to cancel or change my booking?

Please contact us as soon as possible. We will always try to help with date changes or postponements. If changes or cancellations are made within 48 hours of the event, charges may apply to cover materials already ordered or prepared.

Can I change colours or designs after booking?

Yes, where possible. Please tell us at least 2 days before the event, as some displays are prepared in advance.

Delivery and Setup

Delivery, collection and installation

Do you deliver?

Yes. Delivery and setup are part of our venue installation service.

Which areas do you cover?

Our main coverage areas are Leicester, Leicestershire and nearby towns. We can travel further for larger events or corporate installations, including UK-wide projects where practical.

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery depends on your postcode, venue access and the type of setup. Our package pages include delivery guide information, and we will confirm the cost when quoting.

Can I collect balloons from you?

Yes, collection may be available from Syston, LE7 1GF, depending on the order type.

Do you set up balloon displays at the venue?

Yes. For venue displays, setup is included as part of the service.

How long does installation normally take?

Most standard installs take around 1 hour, but larger displays may take longer. We will advise the expected setup time when confirming your booking.

Do you return to take displays down after the event?

Yes, where hired frames, stands, backdrops or structures are used. Pack-down is usually required for these items.

What happens to balloons when you collect them?

We remove the display, separate reusable equipment and recycle eligible balloon and party waste through our NABAS TerraCycle recycling scheme.

Displays

Balloon displays and personalisation

What types of balloon displays do you create?

We create organic arches, garlands, balloon rings, shimmer walls, LED number displays, sail boards, backdrops, corporate displays, showroom installs and larger balloon builds.

Can you match balloons to my event colours or theme?

Yes. Send your colour palette, theme or inspiration images and we will match as closely as possible using professional balloon ranges.

Can you personalise balloons with names, ages, messages or logos?

Yes. We can personalise displays using printed elements, vinyl transfers or branded details depending on the design.

Can I send inspiration photos?

Yes, inspiration photos are very helpful. We can use them to understand the style, colours and layout you like.

Will my display look exactly like a photo I have seen online?

We can recreate the overall look and feel, but organic balloon styling is naturally asymmetrical, so every display is slightly different. Colours, venue space and available materials can also affect the final result.

Do you provide balloon arches, garlands, number displays and backdrops?

Yes, these are some of our most popular services.

Do you provide balloons for weddings?

Yes, we create balloon decor for weddings, engagements and venue celebrations.

Do you provide balloons for corporate events and businesses?

Yes. We work with businesses for launches, showrooms, openings, brand events, shopping centres, schools and venues.

Do you work with schools, nurseries and community organisations?

Yes. We regularly support school events, proms, open days, celebrations and community events.

Lifespan

How long balloons last

How long do helium balloons last?

Latex helium balloons usually float for around 12-14 hours. With Hi-Float treatment, they can last longer, often up to several days. Foil balloons can last around 7 days or more in suitable conditions.

How long will a balloon garland or arch last?

Indoor balloon garlands and arches can last several days, and some customers keep them for up to 10 days. Hi-Shine can help balloons keep their colour and finish for longer.

How should I store balloons before my event?

Keep collected balloons indoors, away from direct sunlight, heat, cold, sharp objects and pets.

Can I leave balloons in my car overnight?

No, we do not recommend this. Cars can become too hot or too cold, and temperature changes can affect balloons.

Can balloons be placed near radiators or windows?

No. Please keep balloons away from radiators, heaters, hot lights, fireplaces and direct sunlight through windows.

Why might balloon colours look different from photos?

Lighting, screens, venue surroundings and natural balloon oxidation can all affect how colours look. Latex balloons lose shine over time, especially darker colours. Foil balloons do not oxidise in the same way.

What happens if a balloon pops during installation?

If a balloon pops during setup, we replace it as part of the installation process.

Outdoor Balloons

Outdoor displays and weather

Can you install balloons outdoors?

Yes, but outdoor displays need extra planning because weather can affect balloons.

How does hot weather affect balloons?

Heat and direct sunlight can cause balloons to expand, fade, oxidise or burst more quickly. Dark colours usually show oxidation faster than lighter colours.

What happens if it rains?

Light rain is usually manageable, but heavy rain can affect the appearance and lifespan of a display. Moving the display indoors is best where possible.

What happens if it is windy?

We use frames and secure structures where needed, but wind can still cause movement and rubbing. Loose helium balloons or ribboned balloons will move more in windy conditions.

Can you guarantee how long an outdoor display will last?

No. Outdoor balloon displays are affected by weather, temperature, sunlight and wind. On a suitable day, they will usually look good for the event, but they cannot be guaranteed like an indoor display.

What happens if the weather makes installation unsafe?

We may recommend moving the display indoors, adapting the design, changing the location or delaying setup where possible.

Safety

Balloon safety

Are balloons safe around children?

Balloons can be enjoyed safely with adult supervision. Uninflated balloons and burst balloon pieces can be a choking or suffocation hazard, especially for young children.

What should I do if a balloon bursts?

Keep children and pets away, collect all fragments immediately and dispose of them responsibly.

Is it safe to inhale helium?

No. Helium should never be inhaled. It can displace oxygen and can be dangerous.

Are balloon displays safe around pets?

Displays should be kept away from unsupervised pets. Burst balloons, ribbons and small decorative parts can be chewed, swallowed or become tangled.

Can I move a balloon arch or display after installation?

Please ask us first. Some displays can be moved carefully, but larger installs, wall or ceiling attachments and framed displays should only be moved by our team.

Environment

Environment and recycling

Are latex balloons plastic?

No, latex balloons are made from natural rubber latex, not conventional plastic. However, they must still be used and disposed of responsibly.

Where does latex come from?

Natural latex comes from the sap of rubber trees, which can be tapped repeatedly without cutting the tree down.

Are latex balloons biodegradable?

Natural latex can break down over time, but balloons should never be released or discarded outdoors. Responsible collection and disposal are still essential.

Can balloons be recycled?

Some balloon and party waste can be recycled through specialist schemes. MnM Balloons uses the NABAS TerraCycle recycling scheme for eligible materials.

What happens to your balloons after an event?

Where we provide pack-down, we collect reusable frames and structures, then dispose of eligible balloon waste through our recycling route.

Do you recycle foil balloons?

Yes, eligible foil balloons can be recycled through the NABAS TerraCycle scheme when returned to us as part of a collected installation.

Do you support balloon releases?

No. We do not support intentional balloon releases.

What are you doing to reduce environmental impact?

We reuse frames and equipment, avoid intentional releases, offer collection where suitable and recycle eligible latex, foil and plastic balloons through the NABAS TerraCycle scheme.

Venues and Equipment

Venue access and equipment

Do I need venue permission for a balloon installation?

Most venues allow balloon installations, but it is always best to check before booking.

How do you attach displays without damaging walls?

Most displays are freestanding. We do not stick balloons directly to walls, ceilings or floors. If attachment is needed, we use suitable methods such as clear line where the venue allows it.

Do you supply stands, frames and backdrops?

Yes, these are supplied as part of the display where required and remain the property of MnM Balloons.

Do I need to return equipment after my event?

If hired equipment is supplied, it must be collected by us or returned as agreed.

Is there a refundable deposit for hired equipment?

Usually no, but this may depend on the booking and equipment required.

What happens if hired equipment is damaged or lost?

Replacement and administration charges may apply.

Can you recreate a display from Pinterest or Instagram?

Yes, we can use inspiration images to design something similar for your event, while adapting it to your venue, colours and budget.

Can I supply my own balloons for you to inflate or install?

Unfortunately not. We use professional decor balloons from trusted suppliers so we can rely on their quality, shape and durability.

Can I take my balloon display home after my event?

The balloons are yours, but any hired frames, stands, props or structures must be returned or collected by us.

What information do you need for a quote?

Please send the event date, venue address or postcode, setup access time, event start time, finish time, event type, colours, inspiration images and any display ideas. The more detail you provide, the more accurate the quote will be.
