Quick guidance
Keep them cool, secure and supervised.
Whether you are ordering balloons for a birthday, wedding, corporate event or school celebration, please follow this guidance when displaying, handling and disposing of your balloons.
- Keep balloons away from heat, flames and sharp or rough surfaces.
- Supervise young children around balloons, ribbons and burst balloon pieces.
- Tell us before ordering if anyone has a known or suspected latex allergy.
- Never intentionally release balloons outdoors.
Installed displays
Please do not move large installs yourself.
Balloon arches, garlands, backdrops and corporate displays can include frames, weights, fixings and other structural components. Please avoid moving or dismantling them unless we have advised you that it is safe to do so.
If you are unsure about your display at any point, contact MnM Balloons and we will be happy to advise you.
Heat
Keep balloons away from direct heat.
Balloons are sensitive to temperature changes. Keep them away from radiators, heaters, fireplaces, candles, hot lights and other direct heat sources.
Excessive heat can cause balloons to expand and potentially burst. A comfortable, stable environment gives the best result.
Sharp objects
Check the surrounding area.
Keep balloons away from sharp edges, pins, scissors, rough walls, branches, textured ceilings and abrasive surfaces.
Even a sharp corner or rough brick wall can damage a balloon display.
Children
Supervision is important.
Uninflated balloons and pieces of burst balloons can present a choking and suffocation hazard, especially to young children.
Children should be supervised around balloons, and any burst or damaged balloons should be collected and disposed of immediately.
Latex allergies
Tell us before placing your order.
Many balloons are made from natural rubber latex. Some people can experience allergic reactions, from mild irritation to more serious reactions.
If you, someone in your household or a guest has a known or suspected latex allergy, please tell us before ordering.
Outdoor displays
Weather affects balloons.
Sunlight, heat, wind, rain and sudden temperature changes can affect outdoor balloon installations. Direct sunlight and warmth can cause balloons to expand, while wind can make them rub against nearby surfaces.
We will advise if we believe the location or conditions create particular risks.
Helium balloons
Keep them weighted and never inhale helium.
Helium balloons should remain securely weighted or attached. Please never intentionally release helium balloons outdoors.
Helium should never be deliberately inhaled because it displaces the oxygen your body needs.
Burst balloons
Collect fragments straight away.
If a balloon bursts, keep children and pets away, collect all pieces, check for loose ribbon or decorative attachments and dispose of the materials responsibly.
Where we collect an installation, eligible balloon materials can be taken away for recycling through our NABAS TerraCycle recycling scheme.
Pets
Keep displays away from unsupervised pets.
Burst balloons, ribbons, strings and small decorative components can potentially be swallowed. Curious pets may also scratch, bite or become tangled in balloon displays.
If a balloon bursts near a pet, collect balloon fragments and any loose ribbon or string straight away.
Simple reminder
Enjoy your balloons safely.
Keep them cool. Keep them secure. Keep them away from sharp objects. Supervise young children. Never release balloons outdoors.
If you have questions before or after your installation, we are always happy to help.
