Our approach
Use responsibly, collect responsibly.
We recognise that balloons have an environmental impact. For schools, businesses and organisations with their own sustainability commitments, it is important to know what materials are being used and what happens after the event.
- No intentional balloon releases.
- Reuse of frames, stands, weights and structures wherever possible.
- Responsible collection and disposal for installations where takedown is included.
- Recycling of eligible latex, foil and plastic balloons through the NABAS TerraCycle scheme.
Schools and businesses
Useful for supplier checks and event planning.
Many corporate clients, schools and venues want confidence that balloon decor is not simply forgotten once guests leave. Where we provide takedown and collection, we can remove the display, separate reusable components and return eligible balloon and party waste to our recycling route.
If responsible collection is important for your event, please mention it when requesting your quote.
Latex balloons
Natural origin does not mean outdoor disposal.
Natural latex originates from rubber trees, which can be tapped repeatedly without cutting the tree down. However, latex balloons should never be discarded outdoors.
A balloon that escapes can travel before returning to the ground. Fragments can become litter and may pose a risk to wildlife, which is why responsible use and disposal matter.
Rubber sourcing
We consider the whole lifecycle.
Rubber production can have environmental challenges, including concerns around land use and biodiversity in some parts of the world.
We avoid describing balloons as having no impact. Instead, we continue to review products, suppliers and working practices as better options become available.
Foil balloons
Reuse carefully, recycle at end of life.
Foil balloons are made differently from latex balloons and are not biodegradable. They should never be released outdoors.
Where possible, foil balloons can be carefully deflated and reused. When they reach the end of their useful life, eligible foil balloons can be recycled through our balloon recycling route.
After your event
What happens when we collect a display.
Reusable equipment such as frames, stands, weights and structures is collected for future installations.
Eligible balloon and party waste, including latex, foil and plastic balloons, can be returned through the NABAS TerraCycle recycling scheme, including balloons treated with Hi-Float or vinyl.
Reuse first
Recycle what cannot be reused.
Many items in our displays are not single-use. Where materials can be safely reused, that is our first choice.
When eligible decorations reach the end of their useful life, recycling gives them a better route than general waste.
Our promise
Memories, not unnecessary waste.
We are not claiming balloons have zero environmental impact. They do not. We are committed to practical steps that reduce impact and improve how we work.
Reuse what we can. Recycle what we cannot. Never intentionally release balloons.
