Celebrate Diwali in Leicester with balloon decor
Diwali 2026 falls on Sunday 8 November, and in Leicester it is the biggest celebration of the year. From the lights on Belgrave Road to family gatherings across Oadby, Evington and Rushey Mead, the city turns gold for the Festival of Lights.
Balloon decor is a simple way to bring that same glow into your home, venue or business. An organic arch, a shimmer wall or a set of light-up numbers creates a photo spot your guests will remember, and it is set up and collected for you.
We have been decorating Leicester celebrations since 1996. Here are our favourite Diwali palettes and setups for 2026.
Diwali balloon colour palettes
Gold is the anchor for almost every Diwali display. Pair it with one or two of these colour stories:
- Marigold and gold: saffron orange, sunflower yellow and metallic gold. Bright, warm and traditional, like a string of marigold garlands.
- Royal jewel tones: deep magenta, emerald green and royal blue with gold accents. Rich and festive, and it photographs well under evening lighting.
- Ivory and gold: cream, white pearl, champagne and gold. Elegant and calm, ideal for venues, restaurants and corporate receptions.
- Rangoli brights: pink, orange, turquoise and purple. Playful and colourful, a favourite for children and family parties.
Not sure which suits your space? Send us a photo of your room or venue and we will suggest a palette.
Five Diwali balloon ideas for 2026
1. Gold shimmer wall with an organic arch
Our most requested evening backdrop. A gold sequin wall catches every light in the room, and an organic arch in marigold or jewel tones frames it. Perfect for family photos after puja. Allow about 2.2m ceiling height and 2.4m of floor width. From £520.
2. Welcome arch for your front door or venue entrance
Greet guests with an organic arch around the doorway in orange, gold and ivory. It pairs beautifully with diyas and rangoli on the step. Allow roughly 2.4m width and 2.2m height. From £200.
3. Balloon ring backdrop with a personalised board
A balloon ring with a "Happy Diwali" or "Shubh Deepavali" sign makes a neat photo corner for smaller homes and flats. Add your family name for a keepsake picture each year. Best with 2.3m ceiling clearance. From £200.
4. LED numbers or letters for a statement moment
Light-up letters spelling DIWALI, or the year 2026, glow alongside a balloon garland. Ideal for community halls, restaurants and larger gatherings where you want a centrepiece guests notice from across the room.
5. Branded Diwali displays for shops and businesses
Retailers, jewellers, restaurants and car showrooms see their busiest footfall around Diwali. A colour-matched arch at the entrance or a garland across the window tells customers you are celebrating with them. We can supply public liability insurance and RAMS for venue approval, and invoice by purchase order or BACS.
Planning your Diwali display
- Book early. The weekend of 7 and 8 November is our busiest of the autumn, and dates fill quickly. Aim to confirm by the end of October.
- Measure your space. Check ceiling height and floor width where the display will stand. A quick photo of the room helps us plan the best layout.
- Mind the candles. Keep balloons at least a metre from diyas, tea lights and other open flames. Heat weakens latex, and safety comes first.
- Choose air or helium. Most organic arches and garlands are air-filled, so they last for days and do not depend on helium. Floating bouquets need helium and are best set up on the day.
- Plan the collection. We deliver, install and collect, so you can enjoy the celebration and leave the clear-up to us.
