Car Showroom Balloon Displays That Drive Footfall
Why balloon displays work for dealerships
A bold balloon display tells drivers something is happening before they even pull onto the forecourt. It turns an ordinary showroom into an event, and gives customers a reason to stop, look and come inside.
Balloons are also one of the most cost-effective ways to transform a large space. A colour-matched arch, a handover backdrop or a run of columns makes a big visual impact for a fraction of the cost of permanent signage, and it is gone the day after your event.
We have been building balloon displays for businesses across Leicester and the Midlands since 1996. Here is how dealerships use them to bring in footfall.
Plan around the plate change
UK number plates change twice a year, on 1 March and 1 September. March is traditionally the busiest month of the year for new car registrations, and the new "27" plate arrives on 1 March 2027.
That makes late February and the first weeks of March the moment to make your showroom stand out. Plate change displays are among our busiest corporate bookings, so we recommend confirming your date by the end of January.
Five showroom balloon display ideas
1. A brand-colour entrance arch
Frame your showroom doors or forecourt entrance with an arch in your manufacturer's colours. It is the first thing customers see from the road, and it guides them straight inside.
2. A handover backdrop
The moment a customer collects their new car is the one they want to share. A balloon backdrop in your handover bay, with an optional personalised board or LED numbers, creates a photo that ends up on social media with your dealership in the background.
3. Sales weekend columns and garlands
Balloon columns along the forecourt and garlands across the showroom windows signal a special event to passing traffic. They work well for plate change weekends, open days and seasonal offers.
4. A vehicle reveal display
Launching a new model? Build anticipation with a statement arch around the reveal spot, or a balloon drop as the cover comes off. It turns a launch into an event customers want to attend.
5. Indoor reception and lounge styling
Smaller touches in the reception and customer lounge carry the theme through the whole visit. Table displays, bouquets and colour-matched clusters keep the showroom feeling special while customers wait.
What dealership managers need to know
We work with businesses regularly, so we make the paperwork and logistics easy:
- Insurance: Public liability insurance details are available for your records or head office.
- Risk assessments: We supply RAMS (risk assessment and method statement) for site approval.
- Industry standards: We are members of BAPIA, the balloon industry association.
- Timing: We install before opening or after closing, so your showroom keeps running as normal.
- Outdoor displays: Forecourt displays are weighted and anchored, and planned around the forecast.
- Invoicing: We accept purchase orders and BACS payment.
- Brand colours: Send us your brand guidelines and we will match them as closely as balloon colours allow.
- Collection: We take everything down and remove it after your event.
Showroom balloon FAQs
How long will a showroom display last?
Air-filled indoor displays typically look their best for several days, which covers a full sales weekend. Outdoor displays have a shorter life because of sun, wind and rain, so we plan them around your event dates.
Can you cover several dealerships in a group?
Yes. We can roll out matching displays across multiple sites in Leicestershire and the wider Midlands.
Do your displays need helium?
Most showroom displays, including arches, columns and garlands, are air-filled and built on frames. That keeps costs predictable and means they last longer.
How far ahead should we book for the plate change?
We recommend confirming four to six weeks ahead. Late February and early March fill up quickly.
Can you add our logo or a message?
Yes. We can add personalised boards, signage or LED letters and numbers alongside your display.
