Ring in 2027 in style

New Year's Eve falls on a Thursday this year, and it's the one night when everyone is waiting for the same moment. Balloon decor makes that moment bigger: a cascade of balloons at midnight, the new year glowing in light-up numbers, and a sparkling backdrop for the photos everyone will post on 1 January.

Whether you're running a venue, a restaurant, an office party or a celebration at home, here are our favourite ways to welcome 2027.

Six New Year's Eve balloon ideas

1. A midnight balloon drop

The showstopper. Hundreds of balloons held above the dance floor fall on your guests as the clock strikes twelve. It's the moment everyone films. See how it works below.

2. 2027 light-up numbers

Giant LED numbers spelling 2027, wrapped in a black and gold garland, make the perfect midnight photo spot. They glow all night and look stunning in a dimly lit room.

3. A black and gold shimmer wall

A gold sequin wall framed with an organic arch in black and gold catches every light in the room. It's the backdrop for every selfie and group photo of the night. From £520.

4. A countdown entrance arch

Welcome guests through an organic arch in your party colours. Add a sign with the year or the venue's name for a branded first impression. From £200.

5. Ceiling clusters and bar styling

Balloon clusters over the bar and dance floor fill the space above head height without taking up room your guests need.

6. A house party package

Celebrating at home? A balloon ring or arch with 2027 numbers turns a living room into a party venue, without the venue price tag.

How a balloon drop works

A balloon drop looks like magic, but it takes careful planning:

  1. We check the venue. We need suitable ceiling fixing points, enough height and the venue's permission. We confirm all of this before booking.
  2. We fill the balloons with air. Drop balloons are air-filled so they fall rather than float away.
  3. We rig the drop. The balloons are held in a net or drop bag fixed securely to the ceiling, out of sight until midnight.
  4. We release it at midnight. At the countdown, a pull cord opens the net and the balloons tumble down onto the dance floor.
  5. We clear up. We collect the balloons and rigging afterwards, so the venue is left as we found it.

Balloon drops suit venues with high ceilings, such as function rooms, hotels and banqueting suites. We can advise whether your space is suitable when you enquire.

Book by 11 December

New Year's Eve is one of our busiest nights, and balloon drops need extra planning time with the venue. To be sure of your date, book by Friday 11 December. After that we'll still do our best to fit you in, but availability will be limited.

New Year's Eve FAQs

Can you install on New Year's Eve itself?

Yes. We install during the day on 31 December, timed around your venue's access and opening hours.

Will the balloons last all night?

Yes. Air-filled displays last for days indoors, so they'll look as good at midnight as they did when guests arrived.

Are balloon drops safe?

Yes, when they are rigged properly. We use air-filled balloons, secure fixings and a controlled release, and we only install drops where the venue approves.

Can you decorate a restaurant or bar?

Yes. We often decorate restaurants and bars for New Year's Eve, and can work in brand colours or a themed look.
